Tag Mobile Phones, are one of the leading communications mobile providers in the US. Tag Mobile, is a Lifeline participant who covers the residents of Arkansas and Louisiana. The Lifeline program, began in the mid-80s, as an assistance program, to help disadvantaged families receive, better accessibility to affordable phone services in the United States.
How to Qualify for a Tag Mobile Phone
You may qualify to receive Lifeline assistance, if you receive assistance, from one or more government programs, or your gross family income falls within or below the federal poverty guidelines. You can apply online or go into a store where Tag Mobile services are provided. When approved you will receive, a free cell phone, minutes or low-cost phone and service through Lifeline. (See Eligibility Requirements). Proof of income must be provided to be eligible for these free services.

- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit Program
You may also qualify when your family income is below 135% of the federal poverty level.

Lifeline Assistance
Tag Mobil’s Lifeline program assists thousands of residents to gain access to free and low-cost cell phone services. These phones give families access to emergency help financial resources and the ability to stay connected to friends and families. TAG Mobile provides phones and free monthly minutes to disadvantaged people who need phone service but can’t afford it. The Lifeline Assistance Program, a federal program funded by the Universal Service FUND. This program is meant to provide affordable phone service to low-income households.
The Lifeline Assistance program has been helping needy families with discount and free phone service since 1985. The programs initially help the poor in rural areas who did not have phone assistance. This program has evolved through the years and moves from landline assistance to now include cell phones.
What You Get
Participants will receive a free basic phone, a pre-determined amount of talk minutes, caller ID, and voice mail. They offer free phones, minutes and other low-cost mobile plans. No monthly bills, no contracts to be trapped in and no credit checks!
Buying Additional Minutes
Tag Mobile will give you a free cell phone and minutes monthly. If you use up your allotted minutes and desire to purchase more cell phone minutes, you may:
- $7.00 for 100 Minutes
- $20.00 for 500 Minutes
- $30.00 for 1000 Minutes
Rollover minutes not used will be lost.
*Tag Mobile is now servicing, in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
If you do not qualify for the phone program, Tag Mobile is also offering pay as you go, phone and wireless home phone service for residents. You do not need to use a computer or the internet. The wireless device is used as a terminal, to connect to a standard or wireless phone. The terminal and accessories are provided, for a one time fee of $89, and can be used with your free minutes, if you qualify for the program. Only one phone is allowed for each family.
Re-certifying
The FCC Federal Communication Commission requires that you re-certify eligibility each year, to continue to be a Lifeline subscriber. When you re-certify early it will ensure there will be no interruption in your phone service and entitles you to one additional year of free service.
