Budget Mobile phones and cell phone service is available to the residents of  36 states in the U.S.  This Lifeline phone service is available to the public  through the Lifeline Assistance program.   They serve low-income residents throughout the US.

You also qualify if, you total income is  135% – 150% below the federal poverty level depending on your state.   Budget, limits subscribers to one phone per household and yearly re-certification.

Low-income phone assistance gives discounts to your monthly bill, or a discount in the activation fees.  You are eligible is you are receiving help from a government assistance agency.

  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Temporary Assistance to needy Families (TANF)
  • Senior Citizen Discount Plan (from the gas or power company)

How Lifeline Assistance Helps

Lifeline, is a decades old, government-subsidized program, providing free, and discount land line and cell phones to disadvantaged individuals and families.  Funding for the program comes from Universal Service Fund fee, charged on all telecommunications services.  You qualify if you meet federal poverty standards eligible consumers who enroll in the program. 

Proof of eligibility with documentation is necessary at the time you apply for a Budget Mobile Phone.  All information must be accurate and any false statements will bar the applicant from receiving    Budget Mobile  service and any other the program and can incur fine or jail time.

Shreveport, LA  12/01/2014 – Budget Prepay, Inc., d/b/a Budget Mobile, has launched operations in Fresno with the opening of its newest full service retail store located at5247 East Kings Canyon Road, Suite 101. Budget provides free wireless services and free cell phones to qualified customers under the California LifeLine Program — a state program that provides discounted home phone and cell phone services to eligible households.     Hello Leticia. Contact your phone provider to find out how to get a new phone. If you have had the phone for a while you may have to pay a small fee to replace the phone.
